There is clean sea bathing, snorkelling and diving, bird and butterfly watching, rock climbing, walking, dog walking and cycling along the cliff paths, goat, seal and dolphin watching, water sports including sailing, kite surfing and wind surfing at the Olympic Sailing Academy.
The ancient wonder of the Chesil beach, the Jurassic coast, stretches from Portland to West Bay at Bridport market town.
